OCEAN VIEW SUNDAY WORSHIP AT HOME

March 7, 2021

Today, we celebrate communion – the day when we remember Christ’s death for our sin.

Before we come into God’s presence together this morning, prepare yourself and space for a time of worship and communion—grab your Bibles and turn to Mark 1, put together pieces of bread or crackers on a plate for you and your family to eat, as well as cups of juice/water to drink during communion.

We now come as a people scattered throughout the city worshiping in our homes. Even still we are one people, worshiping the one true God. As you participate in today’s worship, allow yourselves to worship the Lord with joy and thanksgiving.

Psalm 89: 1-2

Leader: I will sing of the Lord’s great love forever,

People: with my mouth I will make your faithfulness known through all generations.

Leader: I will declare that your love stands firm forever,

People: that you have established your faithfulness in heaven itself.

Have a family member pray for God’s continued blessing on the church.

All good gifts come from you, dear Lord, and from these riches we bring this offering. Help us to

use it for the furtherance of your purpose in this place, and for the benefit of those in need.

Mark 1: 1-11

The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. As it is written in Isaiah the prophet, “Behold, I send my messenger before your face, who will prepare your way, the voice of one crying in the wilderness: ‘Prepare the way of the Lord, make his paths straight,’” John appeared, baptizing in the wilderness and proclaiming a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. And all the country of Judea and all Jerusalem were going out to him and were being baptized by him in the river Jordan, confessing their sins. Now John was clothed with camel’s hair and wore a leather belt around his waist and ate locusts and wild honey. And he preached, saying, “After me comes he who is mightier than I, the strap of whose sandals I am not worthy to stoop down and untie. I have baptized you with water, but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.” In those days Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan. And when he came up out of the water, immediately he saw the heavens being torn open and the Spirit descending on him like a dove. And a voice came from heaven, “You are my beloved Son; with you I am well pleased.”
