OCEAN VIEW SUNDAY WORSHIP AT HOME

March 14, 2021

Before we come into God’s presence together this morning, prepare yourself and space for a time of worship— grab your Bibles and turn to the Matthew 4, get comfortable, prepare your mind and heart with prayer. Now let us worship our Lord, as a people scattered throughout the city, in spirit and in truth.

Call to Worship

Have a family member read aloud the Psalm

Psalm 68: 3-4

But may the righteous be glad and rejoice before God; may they be happy and joyful. Sing to

God, sing in praise of his name, extol him who rides on the clouds; rejoice before him—his

name is the LORD.

Sing to the Lord from your heart with joy and thanksgiving!

SONG - lord, i need you

SONG - he will hold me fast

SONG - my lighthouse

(Kids help your parents sing this one!)

Offering

Prayer for the Offering

Have a family member pray for God’s continued blessing on the church.

Help us to be generous givers, dear Lord, both of our money and our lives, that we might make a

difference in this town. We ask this through your son, our Savior Jesus Christ who gave all that

he was that we might know life in all its fullness. Amen.

We thank God today for your faithful and generous giving during this time of separation. During this time, we are directing people to give through our secure, online portal.

If you prefer to write a check you can still mail it to our church address or drop it by the church office:

1900 S. Western Ave. San Pedro, CA 90732

SCRIPTURE READING

Matthew 4: 1-11

Have a member of your family read the Scripture

“When Scripture Speaks, God Speaks.”

Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. 2 And after fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. 3 And the tempter came and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, command these stones to become loaves of bread.” 4 But he answered, “It is written, “‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’” 5 Then the devil took him to the holy city and set him on the pinnacle of the temple 6 and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, for it is written, “‘He will command his angels concerning you,’ and “‘On their hands they will bear you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone.’” 7 Jesus said to him, “Again it is written, ‘You shall not put the Lord your God to the test.’” 8 Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. 9 And he said to him, “All these I will give you, if you will fall down and worship me.” 10 Then Jesus said to him, “Be gone, Satan! For it is written, “‘You shall worship the Lord your God and him only shall you serve.’” 11 Then the devil left him, and behold, angels came and were ministering to him.
