OCEAN VIEW SUNDAY WORSHIP AT HOME

JANUARY 10, 2021

WELCOME

Before we come into God’s presence together this morning, prepare yourself and space for a time of worship— grab your Bibles and turn to the Ephesians 5, get comfortable, prepare your mind and heart with prayer.

Now let us worship our Lord, as a people scattered throughout the city, in spirit and in truth.

Call to Worship

Now join in the call to worship by reading aloud together

Psalm 145: 9-13

The Lord is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made. All your works praise you, Lord; your faithful people extol you. They tell of the glory of your kingdom and speak of your might, so that all people may know of your mighty acts and the glorious splendor of your kingdom. Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures through all generations.

Sing to the Lord from your heart with joy and thanksgiving!

SONG - what a friend we have in jesus

SONG - king of my heart

SONG - the joy down in my heart

Offering

Prayer for the Offering

Have a family member pray for God’s continued blessing on the church.

“We thank You today for Your blessings that you bestow upon us all. Father, I pray for our congregation today. Lord, may we all give with gladness and sincerity. Father, no one ever gives a present to someone with reluctance and we should never give You what already belongs to You with reluctance either. Bless these tithes and offerings this day. In Jesus name, Amen.”

We thank God today for your faithful and generous giving during this time of separation. During this time, we are directing people to give through our secure, online portal.

If you prefer to write a check you can still mail it to our church address or drop it by the church office:

1900 S. Western Ave. San Pedro, CA 90732

Please click the button below to give. It will open in a new browser window:

SCRIPTURE READING

“When Scripture Speaks, God Speaks.”

Ephesians 5: 22-33

Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior. 24 Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands. 25 Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, 26 that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, 27 so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish. 28 In the same way husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. 29 For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ does the church, 30 because we are members of his body. 31 “Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” 32 This mystery is profound, and I am saying that it refers to Christ and the church. 33 However, let each one of you love his wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.
