OCEAN VIEW SUNDAY WORSHIP AT HOME
WELCOME
Today is Palm Sunday.
Christians celebrate the triumphal entry of Jesus Christ — the day when he was praised as King and celebrated with shouts of “Hosanna!”
Today, we also celebrate communion – when believers in Jesus Christ remember His death on the cross for our sin.
Before we come into God’s presence together this morning, prepare yourself and space for a time of worship and communion—grab your Bibles and turn to John 12, put together pieces of bread or crackers on a plate for you and your family to eat, as well as cups of juice/water to drink during communion.
We now come as a people scattered throughout the city worshiping in our homes. Even still we are one people, worshiping the one true God. As you participate in today’s worship, take your time with it. Read through the texts slowly, sing the songs, spend time in prayer, and listen attentively to the Word.
Let us now worship the Lord together.
Call to Worship - Zechariah 9:9
Read Zechariah 9:9 Aloud:
Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout aloud, O daughter of Jerusalem!
Behold, your king is coming to you; righteous and having salvation is he, humble and mounted on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.
Sing along as you feel led or just allow the words and music to minister to your hearts.
song - Hosanna
SONG - CROWN HIM WITH MANY CROWNS
SCRIPTURE READING
Take a moment to read the Scripture aloud.
“When Scripture speaks, God speaks.”
John 12:12-19
12 The next day the large crowd that had come to the feast heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem. 13 So they took branches of palm trees and went out to meet him, crying out, “Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord, even the King of Israel!” 14 And Jesus found a young donkey and sat on it, just as it is written,
15 “Fear not, daughter of Zion; behold, your king is coming,
sitting on a donkey's colt!”
16 His disciples did not understand these things at first, but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things had been written about him and had been done to him. 17 The crowd that had been with him when he called Lazarus out of the tomb and raised him from the dead continued to bear witness. 18 The reason why the crowd went to meet him was that they heard he had done this sign. 19 So the Pharisees said to one another, “You see that you are gaining nothing. Look, the world has gone after him.”
